Approximately nine months after World war ii, "the cry of the baby was heard across the land" as Landon Jones described it. in the year of 1946 more babies were born than ever before; 3.4 million to be exact. by the end of 1964 there were 74.6 million "baby boomers" in the united states, they were part of 40% of the nations population.
